Up until the most recent update to the iOS version of NOVA3, my son and I were able to play both local and online multiplayer together with my iPod 4G and his Galaxy SL. After upgrading to the latest version on the iPod (1.02v) we can't play together anymore at all - regardless of which device is used to create the match, the other device simply cannot join it.
Cross-platform multiplayer in Asphalt 6 and 7 still works fine for us so I don't think its a general device/network issue. Is this a known issue, or by design? Program Sains Bahan Ukm there. Well, to be fair, Gameloft aren't even coming close to getting good performance out of Android devices as far as I can tell. The Galaxy SL has lower resolution, more memory and about the same GPU as my iPod Touch 4G yet most Gameloft games looks worse and run less smoothly on the Galaxy compared to the iPod.
So its not just the device that causes the lag, its poor quality coding as well MC3 looks *terrible* on Android, so the lack of cross platform multiplayer hasn't bothered me so much but its disturbing to find that other people have managed to have Android vs iOS matches and I've never been able to get it to work. It is impossible. Ive tried it with my android phone and many of my friends. The only way to play in both platforms is staying in the same version in both devices With Nova 3 for sure, yes.
As far as I can tell, *any* android version will play just fine with *any* iOS version prior to 1.02v. So if you've got it working don't upgrade!
With Asphalt 6 & 7, it seems to pretty much work (though Asphalt 6 sometimes has a brain fart and won't set up the match). No doubt the fools at Gameloft will break this with some update in the future though. With MC3, I have not been able to get it to work with any versions and I've had the game since launch day on both devices. It just doesn't work.
